A special issue of the Annals of Geophysics (view summary here) presents the different ways seismologists around the world use the Internet, social networks and engage the Citizens to monitor earthquakes and rapidly characterise their effects (view the article)
The EMSC presents an innovative approach named Flashsourcing and explains how the fluctuations in the use of our earthquake information website are analysed to detect felt earthquakes and map damage in near real time.
