It was the second earthquake that I have experienced after the first one happened in 1987. I was approximately 6 years old and I still remember the strong shocks of the earthquake. The shocks of the earthquake which happened on 06.09.09 make me to really think about the measures that should be taken in such cases. I have decided to know more about the earthquakes.

I don't have many details, first because no lights were on since it was almost midnight. Second I was so frightened I did not notice the effects the quake had on the sorroundings, I was just walking around my home wishing it would end soon!

When I woke up I heard loud and strange noises. First I thought someone had climbed through the window upstairs and jumped into the (empty) room above my bedroom.  Then I thought maybe the cats had banged the outside screen door.  I walked upstairs, but all was normal.  When I came back down, I saw how the ceiling lamp was swaying considerably.

Everyone felt this one and reporters interupted TV to report it, they never do that here because quakes here are rarely this strong. The noise I heard was of objects outside and I am on the 7th floor so it made significant noise although not too loud.

Certainly felt the swaying. No panic. Dogs barking, started after earthquake started and continued after. Felt an after shock about 10-15 min after.

almost all my neighbours went outside...we were outside for about 15 min and we r back inside now...only the very old ppl didn't feel the quake (my 82 year old grandmother didn't wake up at all)

I was working on my computer so I thought the blood pressure was moving my computer as I was leaning on the desk and the curtain behind it, on the window in front of me until I realized it was an earthquake. I was swaying sitting and the curtain was moving but it was very slightly. So, I had to check on the web to believe it. It was about 23.51 local time as it was on my computer.
