Witness location : Pinasca (Italy) (6 km SW from epicenter)

We were sitting at our dining room table inside on the first floor up and heard a very loud rumble coming from the back of our building. Nothing was shaking, but the rumble was sustained like nothing I have ever heard before. The building may have been trembling but it was the loud rumbling that made us run to the outdoors. We stopped to bang on the door of our mother and then out side before it stopped.  It must have lasted at least 5 seconds or more. It was like a very deep rumble that seemed like it would turn into a roar, but them stopped. A friend out side of our building said that she was watching the ground which slopes up behind our building just shake through the rumbling. She thought it was very loud and felt certain that the ground would slide down, but it didn't . We have found no visible damage anywhere.

I was watching Tv when suddenly I heard all the house tremble and so I went out fast and all the windows were continuing to tremble.Great fright!!!

Non ho notato il solito rimbombo che di solito si sentiva accompagnato agli altri terremoti. Il rumore è stato più quello di uno scontro, sembrava quasi l'effetto di uno scoppio.

scossa di durata molto breve ma intensa con fine decisamente netta....movimento sussultorio, non ondulatorio...alcune persone non se ne sono neanche accorte...molte altre si compreso io...ero in piedi al lavoro in una fabbrica..cosa strana che ho notato da persone che conosco e dai miei che erano a casa, i gatti non si sono accorti di nulla, ap arer mio molto strano.

Nah,I was lying in my bed,thought my mother is shaking it to wake me up.
I'm already awake though,but I don't wanna get up already,so, I just ignore the shaking.

Strong impact, felt like pushed in east direction. Then quiet for some seconds and after the building oscillate for several seconds (15-30).

I thought first there is some big truck in the inner yard or some big construction work going on, looked and didn´t see anything, had to believe it´s an earthquake. Trembling got stronger in couple of seconds, the hole thing lasted all together maybe 20-30 seconds. The whole house was trembling and I got scared does it get worse. Outside some car alarm went on. After that some people at homes got into balconies with amazement, I gestured with a woman in the opposite building horrified. I heard after that phonelins went off and also portable lines. Mine was working, husband called just after the quake and I sent some messages abroad - they were though very slow, it took time before they left from my mobile.

1. La porte-fenêtre était ouverte. Elle n'a pas vibré mais eu un mouvement de balancier autour de ses charnières, d'amplitude environ 10 cm au jugé.
2. Mon chat dormait et ne s'est pas réveillé. Cependant, je surveille les alertes-séisme depuis 1.5 mois, car elle a eu ces dernières semaines un comportement agité et inexplicable par une perturbation de sa routine ou son état nominal de santé.
3. Concernant le grondement : je ne peux pas être affirmative. Le grondement que j'ai entendu était non identifié, et 3-4 sites de travaux   le sens du vent font que de nombreuses sources de bruits sont perceptibles de l'endroit où je me trouvais.

Sitting at my computer  and seat started moving in a rolling /wave motion . the rolling did not go on for long  and I asked my husband if he has felt the tremor, He had just woken up [he works nights]  but wasn't aware of it-though he usually observes them 

Our cat wasn't upset -he just looked alert until the wave action finshed

I was sitting on my working desk and felt some vibrations for like 2 consecutive times 2s with a small break in between of half a second maybe. I had look at my computer screen upper right edge which was vibrating. At least 4 other people also sitting at their desks in the same room have felt it as well but others didn't. We checked this web site couple of minutes after and later a report appeared which confirmed our sensations.
