A very strange sound

I felt this earthquakes very strong. During the shake i stay in a bed ( but i'm not sleeping)  on the second  floor. I sent a strong and definited oscillation movement. The duration of shake is about 20/30 second.

I awoke to the swaying side-to-side movement of the bed.  I thought it was my wife moving around, but it kept going.  I heard what sounded like a bus going by but the sound continued for several seconds without variation of pitch.  I momentarily wondered how a bus going by could shake the building, then I realized that it was probably an earthquake.

It felt like there were three separate tremors, coming a second or two apart from each other.  Something near my balcony doors kept shaking, "whack, whack, whack, whack, whack".  I think it was the wooden pieces above the doors, since they were shaken completely out of the walls during the other Verona earthquake this past summer.  (I have glued them in place since then, but they can still vibrate.)  As far as I know, nothing was damaged, and my neighbors did not seem to wake up.  I did not hear anyone talking in the floors below mine.  (I live on the fourth floor, at the top of the building, but I can often hear people talking below me, if they are in the stairwell or near the elevator.)

Have only felt one before (tremor in Japan about 5 years ago), but I was awake this time and first heard a loud rumbling, like a very heavy vehicle or train, then felt the motion approach, followed by a distinct juddering sensation, windows and walls rattling and vibrating. Am newly arrived in mountain village, not much Italian so difficult to communicate, but doubt many people awake at the time, and locals are probably more accustomed to these things; no visible fuss anyway!

I think it was just the aftermath of the Verona Earthquake. It was very brief but a few of us were awaken by the house shaking briefly around 6:00am. But still were a little frightened not knowing if it was the beginning of one here.

when i was lie down on the sofa i felt wobbly sensation on all my body that's moved my self several centimetres, then i jump out the sofa and after two minutes i tryed to move by my self the sofa but i couldn't replicate the wobbly movement
