Witness location : 7 Km N Lixourion (Greece) (24 km S from epicenter)

We are used to small quakes in this area, but this was the largest earthquake personally experienced, it seemed much more powerful than any before. Small items were damaged and the house shook quite violently. What has been most surprising are the number of aftershocks experienced. At the time of writing we have now had approx 50 aftershocks of varying intensity from small ripples to stronger shakes accompanied by bangs.

the sound appeared to run approx north to south, slightly behind the initial shaking.

Fairly severe shaking and loud roaring rumbling noise.This lasted for approximately 10 seconds. Two smaller aftershocks about 5 minutes apart, but barely perceptible.
Local Greek population did not seem unduly concerned,and carried on about their business.Reported on Greek tv as 5.9r, not 5.4 as on other media.Small tremor just now,20.32 local time.
