I felt it the 5.8 Magnitude EQ with epicentre 38 km from Mount Buller, Victoria Australia, I live in a western suburb of Victoria named Sydenham ....scared me and took me by surprise....heard a rumbling sound that got louder and louder and very mild shaking that became stronger and stronger, I thought a helicopter was flying low above my roof, then the shaking got stronger and the rumbling noise louder, then the intense shaking gave way to jolting movements and heard the roof rafters and beam moving and creaking, then the jolting stopped and the intense shaking started again but then it slowly dissipated. I was upstairs in my bed, and my four poster bed was moving...it sounded like the jet engine of a airplane...the entire event lasted between 15 to 30 seconds.Read more0

It could not have lasted longer than 25 seconds. Could feel mild shaking and noise which intensified and became more violent shaking and louder and louder, then the violent shaking stopped and a back and forth jolting movement was felt for 4 or 5 seconds this stopped and the violent shaking returned and the loud jet engine noise returned...I could feel the beams in the roof making creaking noise, I was upstairs and the posts on my 4 poster bed were swaying....it was scary and took me by surprise. I thought the shaking was about to stop, but it got noticeably stronger and louder, all I could do was lay my body over my cat next to me to protect her and put hands over my head, she seemed to sleep through it all.0
