The earthquake hit at about 9:30 A.M., local time here on Crete. My girlfriend and I were having coffee on the ground floor patio of our apartment. We immediately ran from the building to a vacant field across the street from our apartment. The ground continued to shake beneath our feet for several more seconds. There doesn't appear to be any damage in our immediate area. I think the only damage was to our nerves.0
