A firm, but gentle shake for a 5 to 7 seconds woke me up in Maslak on 19th floor. Nothing seems to fall in the room. Never experienced anything like this, my first thought was hotel staff is trying to wake me up for the morning flight. :D

On reflection 8 hours later, I think the swaying lasted a lot longer than I first thought. I woke up to my bed swaying and it happened in 3 waves. I’m on the 7th floor of 8. Now, without adrenaline pumping through my veins, I believe the swaying could’ve gone on for 20 seconds not the 8-10 I reported straight after the quake. The longest earthquake I’ve felt here in 12 years :-(
