Located in OKC, I was awake at 11:24pm, my pets all suddenly ran & hid & then it hit. The shaking was strong, but I began to worry when it did not subside after 30 seconds…the shaking stayed at the same strong level for over a full minute, (started to worry it might be a tornado as it was stormy outside)…finally it started to subside after about 1 minute 30 seconds. All of my swag lamps hanging from the ceiling were swinging like pendulums, my vanity dresser rattled away from the wall. Things in the house were still making sounds (glass rattling, etc) for another full 30 seconds after the initial 1.5 mins of shaking that I felt.As a native Californian (from LA) I’m used to earthquakes, quakes in OK feel very different comparatively & much more subtle/tamer, but this one was a pretty good shimmy shaker, actually had me worried when it continued for so long!0

Slow build up to a couple of good slow rumbles. I would consider in high fours, low fives on the richter scale. Did rumble on for close to a 30 seconds?0

I was sitting in my reclining chair and felt it shake for several seconds. I thought maybe it was lightning but then my husband called down and asked if I felt anything while ago and he said I think we just had an earthquake. I have the app on my phone and checked right away and sure enough it showed a 5.5 earthquake here. Not sure how close or far away it was to our house. Will check after making this comment.0
