Extremely loud noise, constant shaking

tHE WHOL EBUILDING WAS SHAKING AND SO WERE THE VEHICLES OUT SIDE.

I woke up grabbed my phone and I got back into bed and my bed started rumbling and thought “oh it’s a helicopter” and then it got worse so I thought “oh shit is that the boiler?” And then I realize it’s an earthquake so I called my mom and was panicking while in the closet. No damage but a lot of aggressive shaking

Felt slight trembling that lasted about 30 seconds. Only slight rattling in the house, no damage, so significant damage. First one I’ve felt, so pretty cool

Rumble underground and strong vibrations that move the screens and file desk

No damage. Shaking. Things moving. Deep rumbling noise

I thought it was an accident at the local quarry.

The entire room was shaking, including the roof

I as out working in the farm field. I heard an unusual rumbling echoing shaking the valley ( not exactly like but close to the sound rumble of fighter jets but earth based). I looked for planes but there were none. My dog who had been happily chasing rabbits had suddenly stopped went to th barn laid down. I just now went 5 miles east to get coffee on Delaware Water Gap at the mystical. Owner said building felt like it was moving - she turned off the gas supply to heat.

Thought it was a truck rumbling by...

Entire house shook...like a camera shake you see on TV. (Can't explain it better...never experienced this ever in 64 years of NJ)

It felt like a small truck had slammed into the building. I've been through minor earthquakes but this felt different--with greater force, more immediate--perhaps because this earthquake was relatively shallow (about 1 km below the surface, according to some reports). The walls shook, but nothing toppled over. I'm happy everyone in the area was, and is, safe.

New Jersey, 12 mi. due west of NYC. I was in the basement, partially underground. Thought it was a helicopter at first, then maybe someone drilling. Went upstairs, whole house shaking, rattling. Wife on teleconference call - people from entire Tri-State area felt it.
