The house stood solid. I could feel the Earth trembling. I heard loud rumbling. I would have guessed over a minute. The report said 35 seconds. I kept thinking when will this ever stop?

Whole house vibrated saw trees swaying outside heard a very loud rumbling nose. No idea how long it lasted

I was deep asleep felt the rumbling and vibration ran through my body,and the sound of trophies falling from my daughter's desk shelf(which I don't know then). I jumped out of my bed instantly. Knowing it's an earthquake yelling at kids to leave the house and go outside. Shaking was obviously longer.

Unexpected in NJ, but I guess all earthquakes are reguardless!

It felt like there was a commercial grade top loading washing machine out of balance with uneven legs on our first floor.

There was significant rumbling in the building I was in. It was also noisy. The severity seemed to have increased as it went on.

Nothing fell but it seemed like a 200 ft jackhammer was going at my apartment

Was sitting in kitchen and whole house shook pretty severe and feet on floor shaking dog started barking . My brother was at the kitchen sink his eyes were wide open.no damage subsided

At first it felt/sounded like when local quarry is blasting, but then it got stronger and kept going.

The house was shaking pretty hard, no damage to report

Lying in bed, the windows began groaning. At first I thought it was a strong wind. The moment continued, and it became immediately clear to me that it was an earthquake. The walls made sounds distinct from any construction or wind noise. I could hear various glassware and miscellaneous things rattling in their places on the shelves. I vibrated in place, noticeably, but not alarmingly so. As it didn't resolve itself immediately, I got concerned about the integrity of the house, whether the surrounding infrastructure could endure, but the vibrations didn't intensify. My family started shouting and we walked around as everything shook a little, and then it was over. In the aftermath we are okay and unharmed, only two cake stands as casualties. They had fallen from the top shelf and hit the counter on the way to the floor, but mostly everything else remained generally in place.
