I woke and instinctively ran to my daughters room to evacuate the house! Having lived abroad I have the earthquake survival plan at the forefront of my mind but soon as I got to her room it stopped. My heart was pounding so hard. Scariest experience. And the noises too of the house moving. Like a nightmare!! Shaking was so strong. Scared to sleep and got uni exam in the morning :( 0

Was not long asleep when it happened. Woken by increasing violent shaking which lasted about 10 seconds. Ended with a violent thud/jolt which was also audible. Light fittings with crystals really rattled and bed/house moving. I live on a main road so used to lorries passing. Thought one had hit the house! 0

Laying asleep in bed when it happened, and was woken by noises rumbling sensation, felt like the whole house was shaking. Went outside, no visual damage at the moment, seagulls are going garity though, still feel a bit shakey, strange how there is nobody else with lights on or outside!!!0

Woke me form sleeping, thinks in the room shook and then I could hear a lot of birds outside going crazy. At 03:10, around 15 mins after, they quietened down.0

Was like a huge explosion going off, then violent shaking and vibration for about 6 to 8 seconds...thought house was going to come down....very very frightening....heart still beating fast and the birds are going nuts outside...
