Whole house shook and items moved. Initially thought it was strong wind. Slight movement in the floor. Dogs reacted to it. All neighbors stepped outside to ask each other about it. Neighbor who lived in California guessed it at 6.5 based on personal experience.+4

I'm from California, so I knew immediately it was an earthquake and I could tell by the way it felt that we were near the Epicenter. However, I had not expected an earthquake this big in Idaho and hadn't really thought about what I would do. At first I stood up and turned around in a circle, then I ran to my laundry room and sat in the floor and waited for it to end. I live in a second story apartment, there what's a lot of cracking and popping and up-and-down movement, it slowed down twice and then started again, then it finally died down and stopped. Nothing fell off the walls though and so far I haven't seen any damage.+2
