We heard a loud boom, like thunder but then a rumble and the house shaking started to feel like it was rolling. The rolling lasted for quite some time and while it was quiet we still felt like we were on a boat.+1

Doing schoolwork with the kids and I thought it was the wind shaking the house at first but then it didn’t stop. I went into the living room to check on my son and he was holding onto the dog for dear life. The chandelier and all the window blinds were shaking and my dinnerware in the kitchen was rattling. It lasted about 45 seconds. Nothing damaged after a thorough check inside and out. Just startled us really. Husband was at work in downtown Boise and said he was on the loading dock for his tractor trailer and felt like he was surfing. Evacuated for 10 minutes before returning inside the house.+1

We felt it here in Nampa but people dont understand that it was not a 6.5 here because we are not at epicenter. Everyone thinks it was where thy are at. Nobody seems to understand that. I lived in CA along time so I knew it. It was a good rumble here which dog let us know, but matbe 4+1

Initially it felt like bouncing up and down, then after perhaps 5 seconds it changed to shaking side to side and still up and down. It seemed to stop for 3-4 seconds then continued shaking, lighter, again. I would estimate total movement 15 seconds.0
