"We had one “casualty”. Chucky, one of our Halloween decorations fell over in the accounting department of a seafood processing facility. Chucky joined Lusamerica Foods initially as a temp in our accounting department in October 2015 during Halloween season which also coincides with National Seafood Month. However, Chucky became a more permanent part of the team in 2020 during pandemic staffing shortages. The Accounting team was going a bit crazy during that season of life and proceeded to dress him up year round no matter the occasion. Human Resources discouraged this activity, as Chucky was clearly not a qualified candidate to represent other seasons, such as Valentine’s Day, but our Accounting department embraced him as a part of their work family. Chucky had just switched over from his summer outfit of sunglasses, Hawaiian shirt, and a beach ball only a few short weeks ago. We tried to tell Accounting to not bring #chucky out this year for #halloween as he had been overworked, but they just wouldn’t listen. Chucky will more than likely still haunt our evening sanitation crew despite today’s tragedy. "
