I was on my couch watching tv when the quake hit. It scared me, so I jumped up and grabbed ahold of my dog. Actually, I threw myself over him! I heard very light S Wave rumbling. I also heard things moving, but nothing was disheveled, nothing feel off of a shelf or off of a wall. Light shaking occured, not a rolling sensation. I think the earthquake duration here was about 10 seconds.

I’m surprised the epicenter was all of the way in Berkeley. Although, our bedroom sits kind of on stilts, so we are much more sensitive to them. 

Why always in the middle of the night?
