Felt sounded like roof was being pushed down, like something landed on it. Really scarey. All neighbors were out.

We could feel it pass through us and through the house, from right to left, as if in a 2 part wave that didn't stop. Very frightening.  After it stopped, we ran outside, not sure what caused it, and all our neighbors were doing the same thing.  At first we weren't sure if there had been an explosion, but thanks to your website, I knew it was the earthquake.

I thought at first that someone living under us had knocked over a heavy piece of furniture, but the strongest sound/shaking was about two seconds long before tapering off into a more gentle tremor. When it kept going, I knew it was an earthquake.

I live in a 4 story apartment complex. There was a loud creek/boom noose. It shook the walls, the ceiling and the floor followed by a solid 3 seconds of aftershock. It was startling, yet unmistakeable.
