The first tremor felt scarey and the second I want into my daughter's room where she was sat crying and trembling and she is 15. There was no doubt in my mind at the second tremor that it was that and not subsidence or anything. We are in a second floor flat. The reading of address suggests brize avenue. I am onlooking brize avenue but address is 1 Staxton Drive, Flat 9. It was scarey. I remember feeling tremors twice before, (I think 2000 in greece and september 2002 in UK and once in Greece but this was definately more prominently felt. 0

Sudden disconcerting movement under the house. Felt disorientated. Ornaments and light fittings rattled for a couple of seconds after tremor ceased. Lasted only two or three seconds but quite strong during that time.0

Beginning to naturally wake after a night shift, when heard a low boom then whole bed shook and continued to shake for about 8 seconds, I was in no doubt it was an earthquake. Wow!0

Short period of shaking, 1 or 2 seconds, woke me up on the first floor of 2-story terraced house. No damage.0

Knew what it was straight away as I graduated in Geological Sciences in 1981.The tremor only lasted about 4 seconds with slight visible movement of the house structure and contents. Ironically I'm in the early stages of Parkinson's, so when I phoned a friend nearby to ask if they'd felt it they blamed my condition as they hadn't! Exciting but makes me grateful not to live on a plate boundary.0

About 4 seconds of steady shaking of the house, just enough to make loose books fall over on the shelf. Dog was growling & puzzled but not too upset!0
